of larger beads added along the perimeter of the beaded band add
texture and frame the base color. Once the foundation is done, repeat a

base for adding suspended swags later. Just select your favorite color
combo and create this very versatile bracelet!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Triple V's: Jewel or Scythian Gold
Skill Level: Experienced Beginner
Saturday, March 6, 2010
10-1 PM
As
seen in BEADWORK, Oct/Nov 2009, this Triple 'V' is full of innovations
inspired by a contemporary netted 'V' collar with an open diamond from
Ukraine. The extreme contrast between shapes, seed beads, positive and
negative space creates drama. Delve into this stunning necklace and see
how ingeniously the open diamond is created. The netted base is trimmed
with a mix of novel-cut beads. They're playfully arranged centre front
and edge. Stitch on crystals to further embellish the diamond and top
for a 3-D piece.
Please Note: Project may not be finished in class.
Kit fee: $45 (Payable to Instructor)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 3D Fan Waves & "Wheel of Fortune"
Skill Level: Experienced Beginner
Saturday, March 6, 2010

As
seen in two separate issues of BEADWORK, the 3-D fans in the bracelet
are extraordinary in look and construction. Within each fan are bugles
peaking from behind at varying angles. The distinctive 3-D units are
stacked and have an M-bar toggle clasp. In class you will make a few
waves and finish later for a unique bracelet. The Fan Wheel neckpiece
is the ultimate in visual and textural opulence. The mandala is a
circular fan of inverted bugle V's tipped with Swarovski® crystals.
Once the points are connected, the opulent wheel is suspended on unique
wavy beadwoven bands studded with crystals between crests. The mandala
and part of the wavy band would will be completed in class.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Netted V's: Cascade or Opulent
Skill Level: Experienced Beginner
Sunday, March 7, 2010
11:30-2 PM
Learn how to step up and down for a jagged edge. For a focal 'V',
start center front in the middle of the motif. The Opulent Crystal 'V'
integrates crystals into the centre motif of the single 'V'. Continue
beadweaving to the right. When you flip it over, half is done! A
narrower mesh band continues to the back and can be adjusted to any
length. Why have your neckpiece straight-edged if you can add a little
zig? Please Note: Project may not be finished in class.
Kit fee : $18 to $30 (Payable to Instructor)
