Triple V's: Jewel or Scythian Gold
Skill Level: Experienced Beginner
Saturday, March 6, 2010
10-1 PM
As seen in BEADWORK, Oct/Nov 2009, this Triple 'V' is full of innovations inspired by a contemporary netted 'V' collar with an open diamond from Ukraine. The extreme contrast between shapes, seed beads, positive and negative space creates drama. Delve into this stunning necklace and see how ingeniously the open diamond is created. The netted base is trimmed with a mix of novel-cut beads. They're playfully arranged centre front and edge. Stitch on crystals to further embellish the diamond and top for a 3-D piece.

Netted V's: Cascade or Opulent
Skill Level: Experienced Beginner
Sunday, March 7, 2010
11:30-2 PM
Learn how to step up and down for a jagged edge. For a focal 'V', start center front in the middle of the motif. The Opulent Crystal 'V' integrates crystals into the centre motif of the single 'V'. Continue beadweaving to the right. When you flip it over, half is done! A narrower mesh band continues to the back and can be adjusted to any length. Why have your neckpiece straight-edged if you can add a little zig?
