Beading Party

Looking for a good time?  Bring your best friends, drinks, snacks, $10 plus $ to buy beads and you will leave with a fabulous one-of-a-kind piece that will delight you every time you wear it. Beading parties are scheduled by appointment and the $10 fee will be waived for the hostess for groups of 6 or more.

BYOBead Therapy (Every 2nd Thursday) May 8
Lost your mojo? Can't quite figure out how to finish that project you started 3 months ago? Or just looking for a good time?  Join the rest of us bead addicts for some therapy and creative brainstorming.  Bring your favorite drinks, snacks, beads and we'll kick start your next best project!!  Just $5 per person, reservations required.

First Friday Celebrations May 2
You are cordially invited to our First Friday Celebrations, the artsy chick's Friday Night Alternative.  We feature a different guest artist every month. Meet the artists and enjoy drinks and refreshments from 6 to 9 pm.  Stay and create jewelry or paint some pottery.

Polymer Clay

Bead on a Wire May 1 and May 31
Using polymer clay, mica powders, UTEE, and paint, we’ll fashion a 
stunning set of focal beads. While the clay is curing students will create a
coiled wire bangle. Then we will assemble all the components into a
fabulous bracelet with the addition of some coordinationd beads. Class
fee is $42 and all polymer clay and wire are included. Beads and findings

Glass

Intro to Lampworking May 31

This class will introduce students to the basic techniques involved in melting glass rods of various colors and shaping them into handmade glass beads. Upon completion of this workshop students will have the skills necessary to melt glass with a torch and manipulate the glass rods in a molten state.  Class fee is $105 and all materials are included. Bring a brown bag lunch. 

Kiln Formed Glass Pendants
This class will introduce students to the basic techniques involved in making glass pendants with materials such as dichroic glass, glass frit, glass confetti and glass stringers.  Assorted non conventional tools will be used to create shading textures and other design elements for wearable glass jewelry.  No previous experience required.  Class fee is $160 and all materials are included.  Bring a brown bag lunch. 

Memory Glass Pendants
Create a memory glass pendant with stamps, creative papers, personal photographs and precut glass tiles.  Students will learn simple soldering techniques using a soldering iron and copper foil tape.  Class fee is $38 and all glass materials are included. Beads and findings are additional.  Instructor: Ramona Pacheco

Stained Glass Pendant and Earrings
Create a beautiful stained glass pendant with matching earrings out of stained glass tiles. Students will learn glass cutting and simple soldering techniques using a soldering iron and copper foil tape.  Class fee is $42 and all glass materials are included. Metals

Basic Soldering

This workshop is a prerequisite for other metal smithing course. You will learn to make secure connections with rings, pins and various findings. During class you will finish one bracelet including a clasp.  Class fee is $100 and all materials are included. Bring a brown bag lunch. Instructor: Melissa Muir

Beginning PMC
Precious Metal Clay is an exciting new medium that is easy to use and very adaptable.  You can mold, stamp and shape your creation into limitless possibilities.  The piece is then fired in a low temp kiln and what emerges is 99.9% pure silver.  Certified PMC Instructor: Cheryl Bonner, will provide all the tools required to complete your piece.  The class fee is $75 and includes a 25 gram PMC3 packet.  Beads and findings are additional.  Bring a brown bag lunch.

Bezel Setting 
This workshop will instruct students on the process of manufacturing and setting a small cabochon in a pendant.  Students will learn to size and make a bezel, as well as clean, polish and set a cabochon. You may bring your own stone or glass cabachon or one will be provided as part of the materials fee. You will finish one pendant in class. Class fee is $105 and all materials are included.  Prerequisite: Basic soldering within the past 18 months or soldering skills up to date. Bring a brown bag lunch.  Instructor: Melissa Muir

Cold Connections in Metal

In this class students will learn about the different types of metals that can be used in jewelry and how to protect against skin discoloration and irritation. Students will experiment with various
cold connection techniques including wire and tube rivets. There will be discussion and experimentation with several methods of adding patinas and texture to jewelry. Students will finish at least one piece.  Class fee is $105 and all materials are included. Bring a brown bag lunch. Instructor: Melissa Muir

Copper Scroll Cuff Bracelet

This workshop will instruct students on basic soldering techniques with copper brazing rods. Students will complete one copper cuff bracelet. Class fee is $90 and all materials are included.  Prerequisite: none. Bring a brown bag lunch.  Instructor: Eva Sherman

Element 1: Brooch
This workshop explores traditional metalsmithing techniques including sawing, pierce work, drilling and filing.  This workshop is a prerequisite for all the other Elements classes and students will learn the pivotal metalworking processes necessary for future Elements classes.  Students will complete an original piece of artwork of their own design in this three hour class.  Class fee is $70 and all materials are included.  Instructor: Kristina Malcolm

Element 2: Post Earrings
Element 1: Brooch class is a prerequisite for this course. This workshop will cover introductory soldering techniques and explore the processes of surface preparation, torch set-up and five different types of soldering. Students will identify different types of flux, solder and metal as well as complete several soldering samples and an original post earring set of their own design during this four hour class.  Class fee is $80 and all materials are included.

Element 3: Ring
Element 1 Brooch class is a prerequisite for this course. This workshop will cover one basic casting technique. Students will complete a casted ring of their own design during this five hour class. Class fee is $105 and all materials are included. Bring a brown bag lunch! Instructor: Kristina Malcolm

Element 4: Pendant
Element 1 Brooch class is a prerequisite for this course. This workshop will cover advanced soldering techniques and three different stone setting processes. Students will complete a pendant of their own design during this three hour class.  Class fee is $90 and all materials are included. Instructor: Kristina Malcolm

PMC Playdate May 27

Join other PMC enthusiasts for some play time and creative brainstorming. No formal instruction provided but access to a kiln, drying tray, tumbler, some tools and stamps will be available.  PMC3 packets will also be available for purchase.  Reservations and $25 studio fee required.

Silver Chain Making

This workshop will instruct students in the making of silver chain designs without the use of solder. During the class you will be introduced to various chain techniques and will finish one bracelet including a clasp. Class fee is $105 and all materials are included.  Prerequisite: Basic soldering within the past 18 months or soldering skills up to date. Bring a brown bag lunch.  Instructor: Melissa Muir
